Terrafame is preparing for the commissioning of the battery chemicals plant by strengthening its commercial organisation

The multi-metal company Terrafame is currently building one of the world’s largest battery chemical production plant in Sotkamo. The commercial production of battery chemicals will start in early 2021. With the current battery chemistries in use, the plant’s nickel sulphate capacity will be enough for approximately one million and the cobalt sulphate capacity for approximately 300,000 electric vehicle batteries per year.

Terrafame is preparing for the commissioning of the battery chemicals plant by strengthening its commercial organisation.

Chemical process engineer Ismo Huida has been appointed as Senior Commercial Manager starting 13 August 2020. His area of responsibilities shall be the battery chemicals deliveries and administration.

Ismo is transferring to Terrafame from the post of Procurement Manager at Aurubis Finland Oy. He has previously worked in logistics and supply chain management duties for  metals and chemical industries. At Terrafame, Ismo will act as the deputy of the Chief Commercial Officer Janne Palosaari.

Starting from 13 August, forestry engineer Henrik Hagström has been appointed as the Export Manager with Terrafame’s export logistics as his area of responsibility. Henrik has worked for a long time in export and logistics tasks for several companies, among other things he has also acted as the Sales Manager and Commercial Director of Oy M. Rauanheimo Ab.

Both tasks are new, and the appointed persons will report to Janne Palosaari, Chief Commercial Officer of Terrafame.
