Terrafame hires around 90 summer employees

Terrafame is hiring around 90 employees for the summer season. Most of the recruits are students, but senior people have also been hired. The first summer employees began work in April.

According to the principles of the Finnish responsible summer job campaign, Terrafame wants to provide its summer employees with good orientation and sufficient guidance to ensure that they work safely. Training begins with a safety briefing, general orientation and a tour and presentation of the industrial site. Summer employees also receive training on quality, first aid, the occupational safety, as well as chemicals and protective equipment. Task-based orientation is provided in addition to these.

Most summer jobs are assigned to different phases of the production process. A few people are being recruited for other departments, such as the geology, technology and HR departments.

The application round for this year’s summer jobs began in early January and ended after mid-March.
