Public notice of Terrafame's environmental and water permit application has been announced 31.12.2018 09:55

The Northern Finland Regional State Administrative Agency (RSAA) has announced a public notice of the environmental and water permit application by Terrafame covering the company’s entire operation. The application is available for viewing at the municipal government offices in Kajaani, Sotkamo and Sonkajärvi, at the RSAA office, and electronically in the Lupa information service (only in Finnish).

During the period of public notice, authorities, interested parties and citizens can submit statements, comments and opinions to the RSAA until 1 March 2019.

After the period of public notice, the approving authority will hear the applicant on the submitted statements, comments and opinions and issue a decision on the environmental permit.

Terrafame submitted an application for an environmental permit covering the entirety of its operation to the RSAA in August 2017. Currently valid environmental permits are upheld until the entry into force of a new permit, thereby enabling the responsible continuation and development of operations.
